Photography studio internship
For a photography studio internship from April 2020 and onwards, we are looking for an intern to work with us in our photo studio in Steenhuize and during location shoots.
You are self-motivated, eager to learn, patient, have a hands-on approach and attention to detail. You are not afraid to ask questions or communicate ideas. You are always on time, even when there was a traffic jam or your dog ate your homework.
You know your way around digital SLR photography, studio lighting and Adobe Creative Suite. A keen interest in advertising and food photography is required.
You are a 3rd – 4th-year student or graduate majoring in Photography, Visual Communication, Cinematography, Production or related field of study. Link to an online portfolio is required. Basic knowledge of French and English is a plus. Drivers’ license B and own transportation are a must since we will be shooting on location too.
Assisting the photographer with studio and styling setups and basic file prep before images are passed to re-touching. The position will also involve retouching of images. This will include general spotting, clean-up and straightening of images, visually repair damaged product, outline and strip backgrounds to pure white and color correction. Assisting the photographer and/or food stylist on location shoots. Doing administrative tasks. Making practical arrangements before and during shoots, prop hunting, shopping, etc.
Meaningful work experience in a small photography company. A diversified internship with big and small projects for local, national and international clients. An inside look at the ins-and-outs of studio life and entrepreneurship. Good food. A fluffy office dog. An inspiring environment.
